In most cases, Midwifery Clients have only 1-2 ultrasounds performed during their pregnancy. The first is often used to confirm your due date. The second ultrasound is a fetal anatomy scan that is generally performed at 20 weeks gestation, and can be used to find out the gender of your baby (if you choose!) Clients will often use their backup medical facility to have these ultrasounds performed. Those who do not have an established relationship with a hospital system or prefer a more private experience may choose to use the scripts we provide at a private facility of their choice such as the Philadelphia Pregnancy Center which allows for flexible scheduling and accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare/Medicaid.
