Kimberly Muhammad

Kimberly Muhammad is a birth/postpartum doula and Reiki II Practitioner who began her journey in birth work around 25 years ago.

As a young woman with a background in education, her introduction to birth work came quite unexpectedly. A casual outing at a Mommy & Me playgroup turned into Kimberly being offered a scholarship to train as a breastfeeding peer counselor.  She accepted the scholarship, her passion was ignited, and her journey began. Kimberly received her training from Chestnut Hill Hospital Peer Breastfeeding Support Program, DONA International, (BADT) Birthing Advocacy Doula Training, The Nafsa School: Reclaim the Postpartum Workshop as well as the workshops of a few elder birth workers whose knowledge and experiences are unmatched.

An educator at heart, Kimberly is a Hampton University alumna who has taught preschool through middle school in the Philadelphia area for over 20 years.  In her spare time, Kimberly can be found making her amazing body butters, teaching dance, crafting, and spending time with her husband, children, and family.

Paloma Irizarry

Paloma Irizarry is a doula whose practice relies on massage, movement, and mindfulness. She supports pregnant families through the prenatal, labor, and postpartum stages by validating and prioritizing each birthing person’s intuition every step of the way. Her journey began with the birth of her niece. Determined to prepare herself as best as possible for her first time on a hospital’s labor and delivery floor, Paloma signed up for her first doula training with the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support (PALS). This quickly turned into a passion, guided by the impulse to help new families navigate information and resources that can be overwhelming and complicated. With birth being such a transformative and spiritual occasion, Paloma believes it is imperative for birthing people to be informed, feel powerful and confident, and to trust themselves and their birthing team. She has received training through PALS, Ancient Song, Love over Fear, and Breastfeeding Awareness and Empowerment (BAE). Paloma’s work as a Theater of the Oppressed facilitator and collaborative performer has provided her with the tools for mediating complicated family dynamics, effectively balancing charged spaces, deep active listening, and creatively tackling obstacles.

Talia Daniels

Talia Daniels is a certified Birth Doula through Birth Arts International. She is a mother to two boys, ages 8 and 2. Her first pregnancy occurred during her senior year of high school. During that time she felt like all odds were against her, so she made sure to enroll in a teen pregnancy support/birth preparation group. With great attribution and with the help of her village she was able to graduate from Charter High School for Architecture and Design a few months after giving birth to her first child. Soon after she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Industry Management and Merchandising at Philadelphia University.

Doula work inspired her during her second pregnancy. Although she was satisfied with her first birth experience she knew with her second she wanted things to go a lot differently. She challenged herself and strengthened her knowledge on birthing concepts and techniques and was able to have a “natural childbirth” without medical interventions. She also was able to maintain breastfeeding with her youngest for over 2 years compared to her first experience. She was so elated during her journey within Motherhood and comparable outcomes that she felt it was her purpose to support others along the way! After becoming a certified Birth Doula she has since obtained certifications in lactation support to assist with breastfeeding. She’s also recently received her 200-hr Yoga Teacher certification with Studio 34 to be able to provide physical support to women during their pregnancy and beyond. In her spare time Talia enjoys being outside, hand-crafting jewelry, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
